Kids in Care Enjoy Great Sporting Experiences

Counties Manukau Sport has partnered with the Ministry of Children to introduce sports to foster children living in South Auckland.  Karen Grice, Senior Community Engagement Advisor of Oranga Tamariki was thrilled with the outcome from inaugural events hosted by CM Sport this month.

The good news story also reached local newspapers, and further highlighted the new approach being tried out in the Counties Manukau region.  Grice says, "it showcases the work we are doing and is raising awareness. Russell and his team at Counties Manukau did a sterling job and are just fabulous to partner with, really looking forward to working with them into the future."

CM Sport Chief Executive Russell Preston is also delighted with the new direction that the Ministry is heading.  Preston says, "the Government Agencies are recognising the power and value that sport can bring to young peoples lives."
